While attending Gamescom 2024 I was invited to the THQ Booth to talk to the developers of Titan Quest 2 and see the game in real time. This is a summary of my experience with the game:

The character progression system has been significantly revamped. While the concept of masteries from Titan Quest 1 remains, Titan Quest 2 introduces expanded masteries and global abilities. These abilities, available for each class, can be combined with masteries and weapons to create highly customized builds. The developers have ensured that players can start building their desired playstyle from level one, eliminating the need to wait until the mid-game to truly begin their journey.
A Living World
Titan Quest 2 boasts a dynamic and persistent world. The day and night cycle not only affects the visual appearance of the game but also influences gameplay elements like cave light shafts and enemy behavior. The game’s enemies have been designed to react and work together, creating more challenging and engaging encounters. Additionally, players can expect to encounter persistent world changes, such as broken bridges, that can impact their exploration. Moreover the player can change their difficulty level at any time.
Technical Prowess
Titan Quest 2 is being developed using Unreal Engine 5, ensuring stunning visuals and high-performance gameplay. The developers have confirmed that there will be no microtransactions or season passes, focusing instead on providing a robust, single-player experience.
Dying and getting reborn:
When you die in Titan Quest 2, if you activated the special portal, you can go right back into the fight you lost. No more walk of shame back to your destination!
