The Zeekr X, a compact electric crossover from Geely, landed in Israel earlier this year and took the market by storm. With a futuristic design, advanced technology, and impressive performance, the X offers a tempting package for those seeking an electric SUV that stands out from the crowd. We embarked on a long journey from Tel Aviv to Eilat and back to see if the X lives up to the high expectations.
First Impressions
There’s no doubt that the X is an attention-grabber. The exterior design is modern and unique, with sharp lines and slim headlights that give it an aggressive look. The interior is minimalist and spacious, with high-quality materials and a large, clear touchscreen that controls most of the car’s functions.
On the Road
The X offers a fun and sporty driving experience. The 272 hp electric motor delivers strong and responsive acceleration, and the X feels light and agile on the road. The adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist worked smoothly and effectively, making the long drive more comfortable and effortless. However, the ride comfort wasn’t perfect. The stiff suspension made the X a bit bumpy on rough roads, especially compared to other electric vehicles we’ve tested recently.
Range and Charging
While Zeekr claims a range of 445 km, we only managed to achieve around 390 km in real-world driving. On our trip to Eilat, we had to stop for a fast charge midway, which added about an hour to our travel time. Additionally, we had to pay for charging at the charging station in the Dead Sea Mall, which was a bit frustrating.
