Swordai: Slash Your Way to Glory in This Brutal Dungeon Crawler

Prepare to test your mettle in Swordai, an upcoming multiplayer dungeon crawler that promises intense melee combat and high-stakes loot runs. Developer ALX Theory is inviting brave warriors to participate in an exclusive playtest from September 30th to October 6th, giving players a chance to experience the game’s brutal challenges firsthand.

Sharpen Your Blade

Swordai throws up to 50 players into sprawling, multi-floor dungeons teeming with monsters, traps, and rival adventurers. The game’s directional combat system offers an intricate dance of feints, parries, and devastating strikes that’s easy to grasp but difficult to master. As you progress, you’ll unlock powerful abilities to enhance your swordfighting prowess.

Risk It All

The heart of Swordai lies in its high-risk, high-reward gameplay loop. Do you escape with your current haul of treasure, or push deeper into the dungeon for even greater riches? With other players hunting you down and deadly bosses lying in wait, every decision could be your last.

Craft Your Legend

A revamped crafting system allows players to combine items and unlock up to 25 unique abilities. This adds a layer of strategy to your loadout, letting you tailor your fighting style to overcome the dungeon’s many challenges.

Expanded Dangers

The latest update has increased dungeon size by 50%, introducing more complex layouts and a new mini-boss: the Fallen Guard Captain. Beware of hidden traps and undead soldiers that will put your combat skills to the test.

Portal Pursuits

An advanced portal system adds a thrilling cat-and-mouse element to player encounters. You’ll have just 30 seconds to catch fleeing opponents before they escape to another area of the dungeon.

While we haven’t gone hands-on with Swordai yet, its premise is undeniably intriguing. The combination of skill-based melee combat, roguelike elements, and competitive multiplayer could make for a uniquely intense experience. If ALX Theory can nail the balance between challenge and reward, Swordai might just become your next dungeon-crawling obsession. Swordai is currently in development for PC. Interested players can sign up for the upcoming playtest through the game’s Steam page.
